Meals for confirmed bachelors & bachelorettes...
The Obi-Two Cheese-Kenobi
(Feel the force)
What you need is:
4 crackers or
And it’s done! This meal’s perfect at anytime of day or night – in fact, I had it last night at 3.30am whilst watching Star Wars! It’s a really cool snack for grazing on whilst watching a movie in bed or whilst watching a bit of Blog TV. Plus, very few dishes to shove in the dishwasher the next morning – so technically, you’re even doing your bit for the environment.
Oh yeah and here’s a cherry, if you got some Branston pickle knocking about in your kitchen cupboards, then add a dollop of that to the platter too – it’ll really add that “restaurant quality” feel to the meal!
4 crackers or
4 pieces of French loaf (cut it into medallions so it looks real pretty – as pictured)
1 piece of your favourite cheese - I used Normandy Camembert
3 fingers of Cheddar cheese (as above)
1 Bunch of grapes (small)
This dish is really all about the presentation and the quality of ingredients – so shop around and make sure you get the very best delivered to your penthouse via your local supermarket’s home delivery service. Other than that, this meal is so easy even one of Gary Glitter’s ex-girlfriends could do it.
How I do’s it:
- Cut a pie shaped segment of the cheese and add it to the plate.
- Wash the grapes and lay them ‘artistically’ (as above).
- Then cut 3 finger-shaped pieces of Cheddar cheese.
- Lay the Cheddar cheese out on plate in a fan shape (as pictured).
- Then take your crackers or your medallions of French loaf and place on plate.

I recommend you have this dish with a glass of cold semi-skimmed milk or freshly squeezed ruby red orange juice with lots of ice. Or, if like me, you ain’t got no time to be dilly-dallying at the local green grocers for oranges, then have the meal with a cold glass of Robinsons orange squash with lots of ice (like I do).
