My Adopted Hometown

–The View from the Top

I ain’t been going out too much lately…haven’t felt like seeing people. I’ve been writing, with the curtains closed. I took a break from the laptop at about 4ish – drew back the blinds, this is what I saw…

Unbeknownst to me it had been snowing all day.

There are four places in the world that are extra-special to me: New York, Cardiff, Algeria and Liverpool.

  • One of the places, I couldn’t get into because its border was closed.
  • One of the places, I wouldn’t stay at; it held too many memories.
  • One of the places, made me contemplate becoming an illegal alien…but I elected to wait for it to love me back.

So here I am, here in the city I ended up at. The one that let me in…the one that loved me back…the one I chose to stay with.

It drew me out again today (to take the pictures). Haven't I got the most beautiful corner shop in the whole world.

    1. I love the view out your window. It's perfect and inspiring. The view out my window is drab and depressing in the winter time. Although drab and depressing is what inspires my writing and painting I'd much rather have your view!
