Thanks for sharing in the frivolity of the last post! Wasn’t I ammazin' ;o)
So to my next endeavour, I’ve entered a storytelling competition with the British telecom company TalkTalk. The competition is basically an attempt by TalkTalk to find Britain’s best amateur storyteller. To enter I had to choose a passage from one of the five stories they selected; I chose Little Red Riding Hood by The Brothers Grimm. Then, I had to record it, upload it, and throw it to the mercy of the listening public.
I’m doing quite well in the ratings; I’m joint-seventh. But if you’re interested, I would really appreciate it if you would click on the link below (or click here), listen to my submission, and rate me. The top ten entrants get put through to the final, which is judged by star of stage and screen – Mr. Bernard Cribbins. The gold medal winner wins a £2000.00 cash prize. Now that’s what I calls a CHERRY! Boo-yaa!
In the interest of full disclosure: if I did take the crown, I’d give 10% away to my chosen charities (links in the sidebar) and spend the rest on a 13-inch MacBook Pro with 8GBs of memory and a 512GB solid-state hard drive – JAMA! JAMA! JAMA!
Okay, so the chances of me winning are slim, but as the shark said to the pro-surfer: “You gotta be in it to win it, boo-boo.” *side-eye*
You have until midnight on the 13th of March. So please, please…
–Vote Cheyelle!
I do hope you enjoy my entry :P

OMG, I was just a little bit sick in my mouth – I’m currently in second place! Being in this competition feels a bit like playing roulette; I feel scared and excited at the same time. But moreover, I know I could lose it ALL at any minute (brahahaha).

The ‘leg up’ you folks have given me has been extraordinary. I recall, before I published this post, I had 17 votes and I remember thinking: “Oh, I do hope I can get up to 22.” And guess what – because of you lot – I’m now on 56 votes! Oooh, I can almost feel the “precision aluminium unibody enclosure” of a new MacBook Pro under my tingertips [sic].
FYI: As Joe kindly pointed out, you CAN vote more than once.
It’s true, it might "all end in tears", but right now I feels like dancin’.

Okay, so here's the skinny. I'm doing relatively well - my position tends to oscillate between 5th and 8th place. Please keep the votes coming cos I'm loving the glory (3.8 stars from 169 votes – booyakasha!).
Fortuitously, Apple launched their latest MacBook Pros last week - perhaps they knew victory was within my grasp? Mwahahahaha…
Seriously though, fanks. (((((♥)))))
Update #3:

A charming lady, called Kat, emailed me today from TalkTalk's PR company. She confirmed I've won second prize (a Kindle & £20 Amazon voucher) in TalkTalk's search to find Britain's best amateur storyteller. I'm disappointed I didn't come 1st, but I am thrilled that my entry got so much support! My heartfelt thanks to anyone who voted for me to win (especially the readers of this site), as well as: Mr. Bernard Cribbins, TalkTalk and Citigate for making the competition possible. The competition was fun - I had a blast. What's more, I'm now officially Britain's Second-Best Amateur Storyteller. Yazzooooooo!!
