Pugs Bunny

–Images that make me glad to be alive

Some dogs love balls, some dogs love big bones, some dogs love licking stuff and some dogs love petting…but enough about Kat Stacks. My dog LOVES carrots. I dunno why he loves carrots? All I know is, I loves him and he LOVES carrots.

Folks that have been visiting this site for a while, will know that I got Harpo (my pug puppy) after a little rocky patch in my personal life. Well, he'll turn 1 in the next couple of months, and I've gotta confess, I really needed him…much more than he ever needed me. Sometimes I think God invented pets so that everyone – no matter how isolated – could feel the incomparable warmth of love. I dunno?

Anyway, in anticipation of Easter, here's a short movie I made on Monday called 'Pugs Bunny' (starring Harpo and featuring a cameo from his older brother Wilberforce). Enjoy…

Mission Statement

This post is dedicated to Charlie Sheen's dead pug dog - Betty. Betty was born the same year as my first and oldest dog - Boycie. After watching Sheen's Korner, I can't work out if he [Charlie Sheen] is a spoilt brat, a lipstick-druggie media-whore, or just a poor sod (with crappy confidants) that's going through a rocky patch and is trying desperately – albeit in a rather misguided way – to regain control of his life. But I know one thing for sure, I bet Betty was cool.

RIP Betty 2000-2011.

  1. Unfortunately my internet connection is impossible and only let me watch the first few seconds of the video, but still crazy cute!

I feel the same way about my cat, Bovie. We found her under our trailer one summer as a tiny little kitten, and when I brought her in, she instantly took to me. Every since, we've been inseperable. She's definitely kept me sane.

Oh and in regards to Charlie Sheen, I agree. The jury's still out on that one!

  2. Darling doggie! and healthy too...I have never seen any cat or dog that would love carrots like your dog does.

  3. @O'Melly: Well, hello Canada! Welcome to my blog. It's good to see some new faces around the place. Make yourself at home. Feel free to leave comments or just "lurk" - I really don't mind. But do come back.

I've had a quick shufti around your blog and I must say, some of the images are sensational. I'll be returning - trust me.

Thanks for sharing your Bovie tale. It's funny; your contribution to my site has resulted in me changing this post…for the better. I focused on dogs, but you're quite right - it's really all pets that have the ability to make the isolated feel more 'connected'. So thanks, my dear - I shall amend the post tout de suite!

@McCaffery: Hehehe, he musta been a rabbit in a former life…or a mule?

I read you're thinking of doing vlogs. Just an idea, but why not start with podcasts? In my experience they're a nice "middle ground". Whatever you decide, I'll be tuning in.

Anyway, have a great weekend! O'Melly, you too.

  4. Marmalade turns a year in April and he's grown into a big tomboy; or I should say big gender-ambiguous cat being as we had to have him neutered since our older female cat isn't spayed and she does still go into heat once in awhile. She's strictly an indoor cat so the neighborhood Toms aren't an issue.

Our older cat doesn't care about the human food anymore, but Marmalade tries to jump up and get at my coffee. I get so mad at him! lol!

And, since it's in the spirit of our last conversation and you like strange humor:

  6. ^^^^
I read a comment you made about your other cat, the other day on your blog, something to the effect: "she's a fecking psycho!" (LOL). I loves me some Marmalade.

Ps. That 'Living Color' skit was hilarious! Poor Tracy - they even made her look like Samuel L. Jackson…in 'Pulp Fiction'…wiv the Jheri curl. :P
